One of the leading linguistic figures is Ibn Jinni. Ibn Jinni made a major contribution to the development of Arabic linguistics. This study aims to examine in depth the biography and Arabic linguistic thought of Ibn Jinni. This research uses the literature study method. This study found that Ibn Jinni was not just a linguist, but a critical thinker who dared to open new paths in the study of Arabic linguistics. Some Arabic linguistic thoughts put forward by Ibn Jinni are the difference between qaul and kalam, the definition of language is the
sounds used by a people to express their goals, language must be agreed upon by the language-speaking community so that communication can be communicative, viewing lafazh and meaning as two inseparable elements in the macro linguistic spectrum, no two languages are identical, although there are similarities in words or synonyms, usually one of the words has a higher frequency of use and is the original word of its users.
2024-12-24T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 El-Jaudah : Jurnal Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Arabhttps://jurnal.stain-madina.ac.id/index.php/ej/article/view/1963EVALUATION OF ARABIC TEACHING METHODS IN PREPARATION FOR THE TOAFL EXAM2024-12-25T09:08:01+00:00Ruhul Kudus[email protected]Siti Mutmainnah[email protected]
This study aims to evaluate various Arabic language teaching methods used in preparation for the Test of Arabic as a Foreign Language (TOAFL) exam. The various teaching methods evaluated in this study include communicative methods, audiolingual methods, use of technology, and task-based approaches. Each of these methods was analysed to see how well they assisted students in developing the skills necessary for success in the TOAFL exam. This research uses a literature study approach and critical analysis to assess the advantages and disadvantages of each method. The data used in this study were collected from various academic sources relevant to foreign language teaching, particularly Arabic. Using critical analysis, the researcher evaluated the effectiveness of each method in the context of learning Arabic for non-native speakers. The results of the analysis show that communicative methods provide effective results in improving speaking and listening skills. However, the success of this method is highly influenced by the active involvement of students and the ability of the teacher to create an interactive learning atmosphere. Meanwhile, the audiolingual method places a strong emphasis on mastering grammar and vocabulary, but has weaknesses in the context of its application to real communication. The use of technology in teaching allows for greater flexibility and accessibility, supports independent learning and provides access to a variety of learning materials. However, there are challenges related to limited access to technology and the need for personalisation of learning. Task-based approaches can increase motivation and language application skills in real-life situations, but require careful design and additional support from teachers. This research concludes that the integration of different teaching methods can create a more comprehensive learning experience. By utilising the advantages of each method, students can be optimally prepared for the TOAFL exam and develop Arabic language skills holistically.
2024-12-25T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 El-Jaudah : Jurnal Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Arabhttps://jurnal.stain-madina.ac.id/index.php/ej/article/view/2029MNEMONIC STORYTELLING AS A PSYCHOLINGUISTIC APPROACH TO ENHANCING ARABIC WRITING COMPETENCE2024-12-25T09:13:16+00:00Nur Hanifansyah[email protected]Menik Mahmudah[email protected]Sultan Abdus Syakur[email protected]
Imagine a classroom where Arabic writing, often perceived as a rigid and intimidating skill, transforms into an engaging narrative journey filled with vivid stories and emotional connections. What if students could master complex grammatical structures and expand their vocabulary not through rote memorization, but by weaving them into unforgettable tales? This study breaks conventional norms by introducing mnemonic storytelling as a revolutionary psycholinguistic strategy to enhance Arabic writing competence among students at Darullughah Wadda’wah Islamic Boarding School. The research employs a qualitative approach, involving 30 students aged 16–18 years, selected through purposive sampling. Over six weeks, participants engaged in weekly mnemonic storytelling sessions, integrating key grammatical rules and vocabulary into culturally rich narratives. Data were collected via observations, semi-structured interviews, and analysis of writing samples. The findings reveal significant improvements in grammar retention, vocabulary acquisition, and creative expression, underscoring the effectiveness of mnemonic storytelling as an emotionally engaging and cognitively efficient teaching tool. This study not only redefines how Arabic writing is taught but also advocates for storytelling as a core pedagogical strategy. Future research should explore its adaptability across diverse educational settings to amplify its impact on language education.
2024-12-25T04:13:23+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 El-Jaudah : Jurnal Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Arabhttps://jurnal.stain-madina.ac.id/index.php/ej/article/view/1930CHILD EXPLOITATION OF THE CHARACTER ZAIN IN THE FILM CAPERNAUM BY NADINE LABAKI2024-12-25T09:14:45+00:00Sindy Febrianisa[email protected]Muhammad Nazar[email protected]Fouad Larhzizer[email protected]
Zain is the main character in the Capernaum movie directed by Nadine Labaki who described as having a love, devoted, kind, humane character, and not afraid of anything. This alarming gap underscores the urgent need for innovative pedagogical strategies that go beyond rote memorization and passive learning. This study investigates the effectiveness of interactive debate strategies in enhancing Arabic speaking proficiency, offering a dynamic platform for real-time communication, critical thinking, and confidence-building. Utilizing a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through classroom observations, interviews with educators and students, and reflective journals. The study involved 60 participants, selected through purposive sampling to represent varying proficiency levels. The findings reveal that interactive debates significantly improve fluency, vocabulary acquisition, and critical argumentation skills, while also fostering psycholinguistic benefits such as reduced speaking anxiety and better cognitive control. However, challenges like time constraints, preparation gaps, and language disparities were observed. To address these barriers, practical solutions including pre-debate workshops, flexible scheduling, and scaffolded participation are proposed. This study bridges a crucial gap in Arabic language pedagogy by presenting a structured framework for implementing interactive debates, ultimately promoting sustainable language learning outcomes and empowering students to speak Arabic with clarity, confidence, and cultural awareness.
2024-12-27T03:27:31+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 El-Jaudah : Jurnal Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Arabhttps://jurnal.stain-madina.ac.id/index.php/ej/article/view/2086استخدام وسيلة كتاب مفكر ممتع في استيعاب المفردات لدى طلاب2024-12-29T04:10:48+00:00Rahmi Fitri Fauziah[email protected]Eka Rizal[email protected]Isra Hayati Darman[email protected]
The purpose of the research is to find out the use of fun thinker book media and to find out the effect of this media in mastery of vocabulary owned by students.
