Abstract

Environmental literacy and ecological literacy are considered key competencies in building students' understanding, attitudes, and actions towards the environment. Although research in this field continues to grow, systematic mapping of trends, themes, and distribution of research at the elementary school level is still limited. This study aims to map the development and trends of environmental literacy and ecological literacy research in elementary schools through bibliometric analysis. The study uses a descriptive quantitative approach by analyzing 314 publications obtained from Google Scholar. Data analysis was conducted using VOSviewer and Microsoft Excel software to identify publication trends, geographical distribution, types of publication sources, and thematic clusters of research. The results of the analysis show that the number of publications has increased significantly in the last five years, with a dominance of research contributions from Indonesia and a concentration of research areas on the island of Java. Keyword analysis revealed five main thematic clusters, namely learning models and strategies, literacy and ecoliteracy development, the role of the environment and stakeholders, media and curriculum development, and environmental awareness and attitudes. These findings indicate that research on environmental literacy and ecoliteracy in elementary schools is developing multidimensionally, but still faces regional distribution gaps and limitations in comparative studies
