Preserving Scholarly Knowledge for Long-Term Access
Jurnal Al-Mu'tabar is committed to ensuring that all scholarly works published in the journal remain securely preserved, accessible, and available for future generations of researchers, academics, and the wider scholarly community.
As part of its commitment to sustainable scholarly communication and long-term digital preservation, Jurnal Al-Mu'tabar implements a systematic journal archiving policy through recognized national and international scholarly preservation platforms.
1. Digital Archiving and Preservation
Jurnal Al-Mu'tabar utilizes established scholarly archiving and indexing infrastructure to preserve the intellectual content of published articles. The journal's publications are archived through:
- GARUDA (Garba Rujukan Digital), Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemdiktisaintek) – as part of the national scholarly information ecosystem, supporting the discoverability, accessibility, and preservation of Indonesian scholarly publications.
- PKP (Public Knowledge Project) – through PKP's scholarly publishing and digital preservation ecosystem, supporting the long-term accessibility and sustainability of journal content.
Through these archiving mechanisms, Jurnal Al-Mu'tabar seeks to minimize the risk of permanent loss of scholarly content and to ensure that published research remains discoverable and accessible over the long term.
2. Commitment to Long-Term Accessibility
Archiving is an essential component of responsible scholarly publishing. Jurnal Al-Mu'tabar recognizes that the value of a scientific article extends beyond its initial publication. Published research should remain available as a reliable academic reference for future research, teaching, citation, and scholarly development.
Therefore, the journal is committed to maintaining appropriate digital preservation practices so that published articles can continue to be accessed even as digital publishing technologies and platforms evolve.
3. Preservation of Published Content
The journal's archiving policy covers the preservation of essential scholarly content, including:
- Published research articles;
- Article metadata;
- Author information;
- Abstracts and keywords;
- Publication information;
- Digital identifiers and bibliographic information; and
- Other essential publication records.
This preservation process supports the continuity and integrity of the journal's scholarly record.
4. Accessibility and Discoverability
Through its integration with GARUDA Kemdiktisaintek and the PKP ecosystem, Jurnal Al-Mu'tabar strives to enhance the discoverability and accessibility of its published research.
The archiving policy also supports researchers and academic institutions in locating, accessing, citing, and preserving scholarly works published by the journal.
5. Preservation as Part of Publication Integrity
Jurnal Al-Mu'tabar considers digital archiving not merely a technical function, but an important part of its commitment to academic integrity, scholarly continuity, and responsible publishing.
A publication should not disappear after its issue has been released. It should remain part of the enduring scholarly record and continue to contribute to the development of knowledge.
“Every scholarly work is part of the collective memory of science. Through responsible digital archiving, Jurnal Al-Mu'tabar is committed to preserving today's research so that it can inform, inspire, and advance tomorrow's scholarship.”
Through its archiving arrangements with GARUDA Kemdiktisaintek and PKP, Jurnal Al-Mu'tabar continues to strengthen its commitment to the long-term preservation, accessibility, discoverability, and sustainability of scholarly publications.
