Manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Islamic Primary Education (JIPEDU) will be screened using the Turnitin similarity detection tool. JIPEDU will immediately reject any manuscript found to contain plagiarism or self-plagiarism.
JIPEDU is committed to ensuring that all authors adhere strictly to international standards of academic integrity, especially concerning plagiarism.
Plagiarism is defined as the use of ideas, data, or wording from another source without proper acknowledgment. Whether intentional or unintentional, plagiarism is a serious academic offense and is unacceptable in scholarly publications. The maximum acceptable similarity index is 25%.
A citation is required when an author obtains specific information (e.g., names, dates, places, statistics, or other specific details) from a particular source. Exceptions are only made for common knowledge—facts that are widely known and can be found in at least five independent sources (e.g., "Indonesia is the most populous Muslim country in the world").
A citation is also required when an author adopts an idea from another source, even if the author expands upon it. This includes ideas about interpreting data, choosing methodology, drawing conclusions, or understanding broader trends in the field. Authors must cite the original source of the idea and then may elaborate on their own interpretation or development in a subsequent sentence.
When using direct wording from another source, both quotation marks and a proper citation are mandatory. If four or more consecutive words are taken from a source, they must be enclosed in quotation marks, and simply citing the source is not sufficient.
JIPEDU takes academic integrity very seriously. The editorial team reserves the right to withdraw any accepted article found to violate the plagiarism policy or ethical guidelines outlined above.
