Publication Ethics

Publication Ethics

Journal of Islamic Primary Education (JIPEDU) is a peer-reviewed journal managed professionally by the Primary Education (PGMI) Study Program. It is committed to upholding copyright, privacy, and the ethical standards of scientific publication. Articles published in this journal are results of research conducted within the last three years and are relevant to Islamic primary education, such as learning in PGMI/PGSD, the development of instructional models, teacher competence enhancement, and classroom management. Manuscripts are written by competent authors and present novelty, originality, and usefulness.

To maintain the quality of the journal and the professionalism of all parties involved—authors, editors, reviewers, and journal managers—JIPEDU adheres to the “Publication Ethics of Journal of Islamic Primary Education”, which follows the Regulation of the Head of LIPI No. 5 of 2014 on the Code of Ethics for Scientific Publications and refers to the standards set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). This code aims to prevent publication malpractice and violations such as duplication, fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism.

Author Ethics

  • Reporting: Authors must present the research process and results honestly, clearly, accurately, thoroughly, and objectively. Data must be properly archived and traceable.

  • Originality: Authors declare that the manuscript is original, has not been published in any media in any language, and is not being submitted elsewhere. In the case of duplication or deception, the article will be withdrawn.

  • Clear Sources: Authors must cite all sources clearly and correctly. Quoting others without proper citation is strictly prohibited.

  • Responsibility: Authors are fully responsible for the content of the manuscript, including methodology, analysis, and conclusions.

  • Agreement: Authors must ensure that all listed authors contributed intellectually and that all changes to authorship are agreed upon by the team. Non-substantive contributions should be acknowledged properly.

  • Punctuality: Authors must revise and submit manuscripts on time to maintain journal publishing discipline. Delay may result in publication rescheduling.

  • Disclosure of Conflict of Interest: Authors must avoid conflicts of interest and respect others' privacy and intellectual property. Any conflict must be resolved fairly and wisely.

Editor Ethics

  • Neutrality: Editors must remain neutral and objective in selecting and reviewing manuscripts, without discrimination of gender, ethnicity, religion, race, or nationality.

  • Reporting: Editors should transparently report the manuscript review process based on accuracy and clarity.

  • Communication: Editors must communicate effectively with authors, reviewers, and journal managers, addressing suggestions and criticisms professionally.

  • Fairness: Manuscripts must be assigned to editors and reviewers based on their area of expertise.

  • Professionalism: Editors must understand the journal’s policies and ensure all manuscripts go through a proper editorial and peer review process.

  • Responsibility: Editors are responsible for the quality and originality of each published article.

  • Disclosure of Conflict of Interest: Editors must handle any conflicts of interest fairly, maintaining the confidentiality and rights of all involved.

Reviewer Ethics

  • Neutrality: Reviewers must remain objective, impartial, and independent. They may not review manuscripts where a conflict of interest exists.

  • Professionalism: Reviewers must evaluate based on their expertise, maintain confidentiality, and not use the manuscript for personal gain.

  • Quality Assurance: Reviewers help improve the manuscript's quality by focusing on scientific content, not grammar or formatting alone.

  • Punctuality: Reviewers are expected to provide timely feedback. If unable to meet the deadline, they should notify the editor.

  • Disclosure of Conflict of Interest: Reviewers must avoid any conflict of interest and resolve any issues fairly and ethically.

Journal Management Ethics

  • Decision-Making: Journal managers define the journal’s vision and policy without personal or group interest influence.

  • Freedom: Journal managers provide editorial independence and protect intellectual property rights, including research ethics clearance.

  • Responsibility: Journal managers are responsible for establishing policies on editorial guidelines, publication scope, legal aspects, and manuscript evaluation.

  • Promotion: Journal managers support the sustainability of the journal, manage funding transparently, and ensure no interference in content.

  • Disclosure of Conflict of Interest: Journal managers must uphold transparency and settle any potential conflict of interest responsibly and fairly.
