PERAN STRATEGIS MEDIA SOSIAL DALAM POLITIK: TINJAUAN BUKU SOCIAL MEDIA IN POLITICS

Abstract

The modern world, especially through social media, has changed tremendously
due to advances in information technology. By analyzing several
case studies, this article discusses the role of social media in politics. These studies illustrate the political power that
these platforms can harness. The study explores how political actors
use social media such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram
to mobilize supporters, influence public opinion, and
set political agendas. The case studies include political
campaigns, social movements, and protests led by social media. The focus
of the study is on how it impacts election outcomes, how it influences government policies, and
how social polarization and the spread of misinformation emerge.
The study shows that social media not only functions as a
communication tool but also as a political force that can
influence democracy in good or bad ways. It
provides an understanding of how social media can
influence politics today and the moral challenges that stakeholders must face.
