KRITIK SASTRA PADA SYAIR “AL- MASA” KARYA KHALIL MUTRAN (KAJIAN EKSPRESIFISME)

Abstract

In the perspective of expressionism, literary works are considered a reflection of the author's personal feelings and experiences. Al-Masa's poems describe feelings of loneliness, longing, and deep suffering, which are reflected through natural symbols such as parks, seas, and wind. Through the analysis of expressionism, this poem proves the author's inner struggle with the outside world that interacts with each other in conveying a deep emotional message. This study aims to analyze the poem "Al-Masa" by Khalil Mutran with an expressive approach. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with an expressivism approach, which focuses on the interpretation of the author's personal and psychological expressions. This study uses a qualitative method with library research data analysis techniques. The results of the analysis show that this poem is full of symbols and metaphors that reflect the poet's emotional sensitivity to social and existential reality. The expression of sadness, hope, and reflection on life in this poem provides a deep dimension to the social criticism presented by Mutran, so that readers can feel and understand the dilemmas and views of life presented. Thus, this study strengthens the understanding of the importance of personal expression in literary works and Mutran's contribution in enriching the treasures of Arabic literature.
