Author Guidelines


1. General Guidelines
Journal of Mathematics in Teaching and Learning (JMTL) accepts original research articles, review papers, and theoretical discussions related to the field of mathematics education. All submissions must be original works that have not been published or are under review elsewhere.
Manuscripts could be written in Bahasa or English, using formal academic language that meets high writing standards.
Submissions should be made via the journal's online submission system. Ensure that all required fields are completed before submission.

 

2. Manuscript Preparation
Manuscripts should follow the formatting guidelines below:

- Document Format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx).

- Font Type and Size: Use Times New Roman font, size 11, with 1.5 line spacing. The document should have 1 cm margins on the top, left,right, and bottom.

- Manuscript Length: Articles should be between 5,000 and 8,000 words, including references, tables, and figures.

- Title: The title should be concise, informative, and reflect the content and scope of the article. It should not exceed 15 words and should use Times New Roman font, size 14pt.

- Abstract: Provide an abstract of 150-200 words. The abstract should summarize the main aim, methods, findings, and conclusion of the article.

- Keywords: Include maximum 5 keywords that best describe the content of the article.

 

3. Manuscript Structure
All manuscripts must be organized in the following order:

- Title Page: The article title, author's full name, institutional affiliation, and email address.

- Abstract and Keywords: As described above.

- Introduction: A brief explanation of the topic, research objectives, and the relevance of the study in the field of mathematics education. Introduction also discuss of relevant literature, reviewing previous research and identifying gaps or areas that need further exploration.

- Methodology: A clear explanation of the research design, methods, data collection techniques, and analytical approaches used in the study.

- Results and Discussion: Present the research findings and discuss their implications, comparing them with existing literature. Ensure a balance between theory and practice.

- Conclusion: A brief summary of the key findings, contributions to the field, and suggestions for future research.

- References: All sources cited in the manuscript must be listed at the end in APA 6 citation style using Mendeley. Ensure references are complete and correctly formatted. See examples starting from the 2022 issue.

 

4. Figures and Tables
Figures and tables should be numbered consecutively and cited in the text.
Each table or figure must have a clear title and description.
Ensure that figures and tables are of high quality, legible, and appropriately placed within the manuscript.

 

5. Citations and References
All sources cited in the manuscript must follow the APA 6 citation style.
References should be comprehensive and up-to-date, demonstrating depth in research within the field of mathematics education.
Both in-text citations and references should be formatted correctly according to APA 6 citation style.

 

6. Submission Process
Manuscripts must be submitted electronically via the journal's online submission system.
Authors must perform a plagiarism check before submission. Submissions with plagiarism over 20% will be automatically rejected.
Authors will receive a confirmation email upon submission and will be notified of the submission status (accepted, revised, or rejected) within 4-6 weeks.

 

7. Peer Review Process
All submitted manuscripts will undergo a double-blind peer review process. This means that both the reviewers and authors will remain anonymous to each other.
Authors may be required to make revisions based on the reviewers' comments before final acceptance.

 

8. Ethical Considerations
Authors must ensure that their research complies with ethical standards, including obtaining the necessary permissions for research involving human subjects.
A conflict of interest declaration is mandatory, and any potential conflicts must be disclosed at the time of submission.
Authors must also ensure that they acknowledge all contributions to the manuscript, including funding sources, in accordance with ethical publication practices.

 

9. Copyright and License
All articles published in Journal of Mathematics in Teaching and Learning (JMTL) are available under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) license. This license allows users to:
Share and adapt the material, with appropriate attribution.
Use the material only for non-commercial purposes.
This open access model ensures content can be accessed by a global audience while respecting the intellectual property of the authors.

 

10. Language and Editing
It is highly recommended that authors who are non-native English speakers have their manuscript reviewed by a professional language editor before submission to ensure clarity and accuracy in language.
