Copyright and Licensing

Qaulan: Jurnal Komunikasi dan Penyiaran Islam is committed to protecting the intellectual rights of authors while promoting the broad dissemination and reuse of scholarly knowledge. The journal applies a transparent copyright and licensing policy consistent with its Open Access publishing model.

1. COPYRIGHT

Authors retain the copyright of their published articles and grant Qaulan: Jurnal Komunikasi dan Penyiaran Islam the right of first publication.

By submitting a manuscript, authors confirm that:

  • The manuscript is their original work.
  • The manuscript has not been published elsewhere.
  • They have the authority to grant the publication rights described in this policy.
  • All third-party materials have been appropriately acknowledged and permission obtained where required.
  • Publication of the manuscript does not infringe the copyright or other intellectual property rights of any third party.

Copyright ownership remains with the authors unless otherwise agreed in writing.

2. LICENSE

Published articles are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license, unless otherwise stated on the individual article.

Under the CC BY 4.0 license, readers may:

  • Share — copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format.
  • Adapt — remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, including commercial purposes.

These freedoms are subject to proper attribution.

Users must:

  • Give appropriate credit to the author(s).
  • Provide a link to the license.

3. AUTHOR RIGHTS

Authors retain the right to:

  • Share and distribute their published work.

Qaulan: Jurnal Komunikasi dan Penyiaran Islam follows an Open Access publishing model.

  • Figures
  • Charts
  • Audio or video materials
  • Previously published text
  • Other copyrighted content

Where third-party material is not covered by the applicable Creative Commons license or another legal exception, authors must obtain the necessary permission before publication.

6. ATTRIBUTION REQUIREMENT

Any reuse, reproduction, adaptation, or redistribution of a published article must provide appropriate attribution.

A recommended attribution should include:

Author(s), article title, Qaulan: Jurnal Komunikasi dan Penyiaran Islam, publication year, DOI or article URL, and the applicable Creative Commons license.

7. PUBLISHER RIGHTS

The publisher, STAIN Mandailing Natal, reserves the right to publish, distribute, archive, index, and preserve articles accepted for publication in the journal.

The publisher does not claim ownership of the authors' copyright unless explicitly agreed otherwise.

8. COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT

Any suspected copyright infringement involving an article published by Qaulan may be reported to the Editorial Team.
