Qaulan: Jurnal Komunikasi dan Penyiaran Islam maintains a transparent policy regarding revenue generation, advertising, sponsorship, and marketing activities. The journal ensures that financial considerations do not influence editorial decisions, peer-review outcomes, manuscript acceptance, or publication priority.
1. REVENUE SOURCES
The primary sources supporting the operation of Qaulan may include:
- Article Processing Charges (APC) from eligible authors.
- Institutional support from STAIN Mandailing Natal.
- Academic and institutional funding.
- Grants or other legitimate scholarly funding.
- Other sources that are consistent with the journal's academic and ethical principles.
All revenue is intended to support legitimate journal activities, including:
- Editorial management.
- Peer-review administration.
- Copyediting and proofreading.
- Article formatting and layout.
- OJS and website maintenance.
- DOI and metadata management.
- Digital preservation and archiving.
- Publication and dissemination activities.
2. ARTICLE PROCESSING CHARGES
For authors affiliated with institutions in Indonesia, the APC is IDR 300,000 per accepted article.
For international authors, the APC is FREE / USD 0.
There is no submission fee, and manuscripts that are rejected are not charged an APC.
Payment of an APC does not guarantee acceptance or influence the editorial decision.
3. ADVERTISING POLICY
Qaulan does not allow advertising to influence editorial content or scholarly decisions.
If advertising is displayed on the journal's website or related platforms, advertisements must:
- Be clearly distinguishable from editorial content.
- Not influence manuscript acceptance or rejection.
- Not influence peer-review decisions.
- Not be presented as an academic endorsement by the journal.
- Comply with applicable laws and ethical standards.
- Not contain misleading, discriminatory, offensive, or inappropriate content.
The Editorial Team reserves the right to reject or remove advertisements that are considered inappropriate or inconsistent with the journal's academic mission.
4. SPONSORSHIP
The journal may receive financial or institutional support from organizations, institutions, or academic programs.
Sponsors must not have editorial control over:
- Manuscript selection.
- Peer-review outcomes.
- Editorial decisions.
- Article content.
- Publication timing.
- Retraction or correction decisions.
Any sponsorship arrangement must preserve the editorial independence of the journal.
5. MARKETING AND PROMOTION
Qaulan may promote its published articles, journal issues, calls for papers, and academic activities through appropriate channels, including:

- Social media.

- Conferences and scholarly events.
Marketing activities must accurately represent the journal and its publications.
The journal does not use misleading claims regarding:
- Indexing status.
- Journal ranking.
- Acceptance rates.
- Citation metrics.
- Editorial board membership.
- Peer-review results.
- Publication guarantees.
6. NO GUARANTEED PUBLICATION
Qaulan does not accept payment in exchange for guaranteed publication.
All manuscripts are subject to the journal's established editorial screening and Double-Blind Peer Review process.
Financial contributions, APC payments, sponsorship, or institutional affiliation have no bearing on the academic decision regarding a manuscript.
7. EDITORIAL INDEPENDENCE
Revenue-generating activities must remain separate from editorial decision-making.
Editors and reviewers are expected to evaluate manuscripts based on:
- Originality.
- Relevance.
- Academic quality.
- Methodological rigor.
- Scholarly contribution.
- Research integrity.
Financial considerations must never determine whether an article is accepted, rejected, revised, or published.
